On November 12 and 13, 2009 in
Minsk the Belarusian Investment Economic Forum and the sixth plenary meeting of
the International Investment Advisory Council under the Council of Ministers of
the Republic of Belarus were held in the public institution “The National
Library of Belarus”.
More than 680 people participated in the work of the forum, out of which 450 are
international representatives from 49 countries of the world. Among principal
member states are Russia (46
representatives), Germany –
40, France – 21, Great Britain – 19, USA
– 15, Lithuania – 10, Sweden and Poland – 9 representatives each.

network of the first day of the forum the principal event was holding a plenary
meeting.

plenary meeting a number of offers to improve further cooperation with

to the Forum participants, the conferences subject area was of great interest
among the foreign investors.
Foreign
companies’ representatives stated 49 offers on holding negotiations with the
Prime Minister of the Republic of
Belarus S.S. Sidorsky, and with Deputy Prime Ministers of the
Republic
of Belarus as well.
On
November 12, 2009 the first day of the Forum ended in the signing of the
investment contract “On establishment of a logistic park in the Republic of
Belarus based on the all-purpose structure for treatment of cargos carried by
air, railroad and car in the National Airport “Minsk” between the Republic of
Belarus in the person of the Ministry of Transport and Communication and Belgian
company “AOI NV”.
Aggregate investments equal 288,605 thousand
euros. Validity period of the agreement is by 2021.
In the
context of the 5 industry sections held at the Forum, more than 100 investment
projects were presented.
1. Energy sector and petrochemical industry. Energy effectiveness and
alternative sources of energy (Responsible: Y.V. Rymashevskiy, Deputy Minister
of Energy)
2. Promotion of the agro-industrial complex, food and light industry.
Productivity growth and sales markets development.
3. Infrastructure: transport, logistics, tourism. Construction and
Housing and communal services (Responsible: N.P. Verhovets, First Deputy
Minister of Transport and Communication).
4. Innovation technologies development (Responsible: I.V. Voitov,
Chairman of the Science and Technology State Committee).
5. Regions
and Free Economic Zones. Incentives for investors. (Responsible: P.K. Zhabko,
First Deputy Minister of Economics).
On November 12 and 13, 2009 during the
Forum an exhibition was held, where Belarusian companies presented stands,
mockups, and boards.
